Want Lists

As I am a "One Man Band," sending me pages and pages of "want lists" or catalogue numbers is generally a waste of both our time. I look at the reams of catalogue numbers, my eyes glaze over, and the list is usually relegated to the "too hard" basket. However, if you genuinely require a quote on a small number of specific stamps or sets of stamps, then I am more than happy to help. Please remember to send me the following information:

1. A written description of the stamp(s) required - as catalogue numbers can and do change, more often than you imagine, especially Stanley Gibbons and ACSC, depending on which edition we are both using.

2. The exact condition you require, e.g. mint unhinged, mint hinged, well centred, typically centred, superb used, or used space filler, etc. All collectors require different grades of different stamps. Don't assume I can read your mind. If you only want superb "1 in a 1000" grade mint unhinged or superb used Kangaroos for your own collection and are happy to pay double catalogue for them, I can supply as long as I realise this. Likewise, if you want run-of-the-mill used copies to fill up the page in your grandson's collection and are happy to have it for a fraction of catalogue, I can assist just as readily there. But I CANNOT read minds! Listing your "wants" out something like this format below REALLY assists, and in the end, saves us both time, and stops any confusion and wasted postages and letters and exchanges.

Australia 1913 Kangaroo, 2/- Brown, Scott #11, (or SG #12) well centred , good perfs, lightly mounted.

Australia 1932 1/- Green Lyrebird, Scott #141, (or SG #140) average used.

etc.

I'm sorry, but a long list of purely Scott or Gibbons numbers for the country you require will NOT receive a response. There is only me here, and I don't have the time or inclination to spend the morning going through page after page of catalogues, looking up numbers from a list you possibly sent to 50 dealers anyway, only to never hear from you again. Your catalogue listing may not match mine as they change often. I know stamps by their descriptions, not by their catalogue numbers!
